Leslie Hillendahl focuses her practice on commercial litigation in a broad array of areas, including business disputes, personal injury matters, products liability, misappropriation of proprietary and confidential information, theft and misappropriation of trade secrets, partnership disputes, unfair business practices, franchise litigation and fiduciary duty. Ms. Hillendahl's experience extends to all phases of litigation, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration proceedings. She has also successfully argued to the First Court of Appeals in Texas. Ms. Hillendahl represents clients with creativity and a strong capacity for problem-solving; her strengths include learning about her clients and their goals, interacting with clients, and helping clients strategize in order to achieve their objectives. Friendly and personal with clients but tough when negotiating or zealously advocating on their behalf, she understands the value of providing good advice to her clients and accomplishing their goals.
Following her graduation from Texas A&M University in 1997 with her Master of Science degree in Accounting with an emphasis in Taxation, Ms. Hillendahl was a tax consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers where her clients included Fortune 500 companies. During law school, she clerked at the Harris County Attorney's office and was a law clerk to the Honorable Sam Nuchia, First Court of Appeals of Texas. She also competed on the South Texas College of Law Moot Court Team receiving the Best Brief Award and was a finalist in the Leroy Jeffers Memorial Moot Court Competition.
In Ms. Hillendahl's spare time, she sits on the board of directors of a local all-breed, no kill, not for profit (c)(3) animal rescue organization called Scout's Honor Rescue, Inc. Scout's Honor Rescue, Inc. was established in 2006, and exists to rescue, rehabilitate and place homeless dogs and cats, and educate the public. Ms. Hillendahl has been instrumental in saving the lives of well over 1,000 dogs and cats in need and is very passionate about animal welfare. Indeed, she was featured in the May/June 2008 Local Heroes issue of The Houston Lawyer for her work in animal rescue.
